(25,639 posts)3. No more pretense about governing. They have gone full nazi/fascist/Goldwater
and may we have similar results as 1964, when it was reason versus "wacko" (or is that Waco?)

AND LET'S ADD SOME MORE STATES TO THE BLUE TALLY!

Why Silicon Valley billionaires like Peter Thiel turned against Trump - The Washington Post
Paywalled but archived. https://archive.is/7BefO
The ambivalence among tech leaders goes well beyond a distaste for the former president, who was scorned by several high-profile tech-world supporters in the aftermath of the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol. Although the tech elite often have criticized the left and wokeness, some now say the GOP has overemphasized divisive social issues such as transgender rights and abortion at the expense of the tech titans primary political goal: radical deregulation.
Theres such a massive disconnect right now between caucus-goers and primary voters and the people who write the big super PAC checks, said a political adviser to major Silicon Valley donors on the right. We dont care about [transgender] kids going to bathrooms. We care about dismantling the regulatory state.

The deregulation was the hook that grabbed then, but the accompanying intolerance and hate (Dont forget, Peter Thiel has a same-sex marriage) is distinctly un-libertarian. Its entirely fascist cult.
And many will sit this election out, along with their checkbooks.

if Trump claws back AZ & GA & holds NC, we have to sweep NV, WI, MI, PA, & VA (if we sweep all 5 NH doesnt matter)

That is tragic for you, for sure. I was beyond rage at what was happening to you and the ones that didn't come back.

I agree. I think we're all skittish because none of us believed anything as asinine and as traitorous as Trump...

Hopefully you are correct, but remember 2016 was supposedly a walk off.

Nope. I have little to no faith in the American public at large doing the right thing.

The House, absolutely. The Senate is a HARD map in 24 though the GOP's craziness may help us.

Yes. But we need to turn out the vote as much as we can. We will re-elect Joe Biden ...

Wonder how many were equally confident in 2016? In a sane world, Dems would sweep everything in 2024,

I heard on Keith Olbermann that of the people who percieve them both as too old, more them would vote for Biden
