(33,178 posts)and a person who was born in this country, give a talk about her allegedly personal and family experiences as a Palestinian. Her talk was filled with propaganda, half truths and outright lies. She referred to the entire state of Israel as "Palestine" throughout her talk. She kept saying that her father was "from Palestine." I asked her where he was born and what it said on his passport. I asked her what it says on Gazan passports, and on the passports those who live in the West Bank.
If Palestinians want to be accepted as a people, they can work out a two state solution and recognize Israel's right to exist.
I was polite. She was whiny. She was defensive. She brought her own pack of flying monkeys. She said to me, "Why are you asking me all these questions?" The people surrounding her said, "Why are you asking her all these questions?" Our other speakers have answered questions.
She said things like, "You may see or hear....there was a list of slogans, including the usual "from the river to the sea" anti-semitism. I noticed a pattern to her talk. When she was saying something untrue, her voice would drop. She would slur over entire phrases, making them hard to understand. I asked her several times, politely, to go back and repeat something because I could not hear it. I was sitting right in front. She is not the first speaker I have tried to listen to who has behaved in this way. I am disgusted with this behavior.
I asked her before she spoke if I could tape her talk. She said no.
There are several ways Palestinians could earn respect and recognition as a people. Supporting Hamas terrorism is not one of them. Refusing to recognize Israels right to exist is not one one of them either. I will not respect or recognize them until they do just that.
