(7,972 posts)Of course I was being sarcastic, but he was blessed with good genetics and the best possible situation. As I said, he had every advantage: Aryan good looks, youth, money, a sympathetic tale of tragedy. We're lucky he wasn't able to use all of it to his advantage as a smarter person would have.
I kind of subscribe to the RPG school of thought that you get only so many "points" distributed to charm, intelligence, strength, ambition, etc. The game rules sometimes allow you a "perk" if you also select a corresponding "disadvantage" (like your intelligence is maxed but you secretly have to consume human flesh) and it's kind of a joke in my friend group when someone seems to "have everything" that there must be something fundamentally wrong with them.
In college I was relaxing in the sauna once and chatting with another student. I was subconsciously in my head like "good-looking, intelligent, works out, well-endowed, med student... he must be a secret axe-murderer!"
