People with houses had super-tall antennae on top to get the rest. Or cable. Unbeknownst to me, the cable to my rental house was hamburgered in as the company said when they disconnected it.
When I moved, the rental apartment building had cable. And so it has gone. All these years later we moved to a lovely neighborhood 50 miles South on the coastal curve behind some foothills. So cable it is especially since my husband works from home and his co-workers span the globe.
Theres a lot of people in the modern era for whom cable is a necessary utility. I wish it would be regulated as such.
