I had Concealed Carry Permits when I lived in both Arizona and South Carolina. I didn't really use them though. In Phoenix, one of our hospitals was in a bad area. I'd carry a gun in the car (well hidden) as a precaution when i went there for meetings. In South Carolina I'd take one to the baseball games at Flour Field in Greenville. The stadium was in East Greenville, which had some crime issues. Same deal, hidden in the car. Otherwise the guns stayed home.

I can't imagine wandering around with a 9mm on my hip all the time, even concealed, much less open carry.

Here in California I took the online class but didn't apply. They ask about mental health history and hospitalizations in the app. Having PTSD and ongoing VA treatment I figured forget it. Honestly though, I'd trust myself with a gun more than some of the people I've run into here.
