(179,493 posts)Lots of people have no gall bladder. You just have to learn what you can and cannot eat afterwards. Some people don't have any issues, from what I've heard. Family and friends (plus the medical professionals) are critical to recovery. You need encouragement to believe that you'll eventually return to life as you know it.
Learning to walk again isn't easy. I went through that some years ago after a bout of pancreatitis. Seriously, I don't know how I stayed upright for a couple of weeks in there because I was so damned weak. To this day, I'll never forget the PT who got me walking again. He was great.
Hospitals and nursing homes are not good places to recover. A doctor once told me that. Have they given you a timeline for your release? Have a better new year with all of this behind you.
