It's a hard row to hoe, believing yourself an exemplar of virtue and feeling some obligation to display your superior claim to sainthood. And when you find yourself ranged alongside people whose weapon of choice is atrocity, and whose battlecraft consists of little more than 'chicks up front' but against bombs and bullets, not police batons and tear-gas, well, really, you're shit out of luck, and can't look a mirror square in the eye.

"Saints are to be presumed guilty till proved innocent."
