40. Those who forget History....

She was the Governor of a state that wanted to secede in 1832 over the issue of tariffs on English goods. The very same state that 30 years later lead the secession movement in the South and in its articles of secession named slavery as the main reason for leaving the union. Finally in 1951 the South Carolina legislature proudly decided to raise the Battle Flag of the Army of Northern Virginia over the state capital as a giant middle finger to the Civil Rights movement that had started after WWII.
Now she will tell you that she had the flag removed from the Capitol building but it is still on the grounds of the Capitol. And finally as a prior poster stated she does not go by her given Indian name and that is for purely political reasons.
What a fraud.
