My family recently helped put a child molester in prison, but the victim needs years of therapy and support. In this case, it turns out he had gotten away with molesting a family member in his teens and if he had been caught and dealt with for that, the most recent abuse might not have happened.

Most organizations that provide opportunities for the abuse of children now have programs and policies in place to prevent predation, but that wasn't the case in years past. The Boy Scouts, for example, PRETENDED to have programs and policies to prevent child abuse before the reality was exposed.
