(41,199 posts)We're too interconnected. Every credit card transaction would have to be called in. A global company would have to share personnel records by mail. We're a global digital network, like it or not. The only way digital is going away is if the lights go out forever.
There is no foolproof way to keep hackers out but IMO a lot of companies are cheap, lazy, or incompetent & could have avoided being hacked by not being the low hanging fruit. I used to try to log onto systems a week after I quit & I found two systems that let me in. I have friends who have found the same. I've worked for companies that never required employees to change their logon password. If a business isn't sure how to harden their systems they should hire someone. But that costs money.
