Dr. Gartner also petitioned Schumer back in 2017 to remove Trump from office because he was mentally unfit.
In 2018, he wrote a letter to Trump's doctor, Ronny Jackson, asking him to perform a cognitive exam because there were signs he might be suffering from dementia.
Then in 2019, he wrote an article for USA Today claiming Trump might suffer from dementia.
My point? He's been at this for nearly eight years now.
As awful as Trump is - and he is - if he had dementia all the way back in 2017, the signs likely would be very apparent in 2024. The average lifespan of someone with dementia is eight-to-ten years. Trump is right at that supposed eight-year mark according to this same doctor. He would theoretically be entering the severe stage of the disease and as unhinged as Trump is, he's nowhere near the end-stage of dementia.
So, either Trump is one of the lucky ones and has a really slow-forming version of dementia (which is pretty rare) or he's just crazy and has been crazy since 2016.
But I don't think it's appropriate for any doctor to be making that diagnosis off speeches and what they see on TV.
How can I accept it when Ronny Jackson, also a doctor (literally Obama's White House doctor) is out there doing the exact same thing with Biden? Should we trust him because he's a doctor too? No.
Trump is dumb. He's always been dumb. He's also dangerous. But not because he's suffering from dementia.
Focusing on dementia, whether it's posting an article or outright making the claim yourself, isn't a winning argument because it just brings Biden's age into it.
We need to focus on how crazy Trump is and what he plans on doing if elected again - not that he flubs a line or slurs his words due to his fake teeth or whatever.
