1. Compare her primary campaign vs. Obama to Trump. Same energy wasn't there.
2. Her Democratic opponents during the primary looked like people auditioning for a cabinet spot.
3. There was an underlining theme that she was "ordained" after Obama and that's deadly as it doesn't bring any excitement. It turns off voters and makes them apathetic.
4. Polls showed her winning, so, many didn't bother showing up to vote.
5. Independents weren't excited about her and some thought Trump was just doing a show, but didn't actually think he would follow through, he was a Democrat at one point. Whoops.
We all get hopping mad here and practically frothing at the mouth, but we are not representative of the population and often shoot down people who bring that reality up. And so, we get bent out of shape when the vision here doesn't conform to reality. Anyone brings up that there is a bit of a bias here, then its damn the torpedo's and blow them out of the water.
Comey's investigation was just enough to turn off enough independents and casual Democrats to not bother. Didn't have to be that way, if people took his run a bit more serious. What's embarrassing, even Trump didn't expect to win. On election night he went to take a nap and was wakened when told there was a real chance he could win.
Clinton's loss wasn't just due to one or two reasons, that being Comey and/or Russia. It was several small mistakes that slowly turned people off or become apathetic, Comey may have just been the straw that broke it...then again, its still entirely possible Clinton still could have lost without the announcement, we'll never know. We have DU members watching CSPAN religiously, and yet I remember where a cable company, in order to get people pay up, locked their channel to CSPAN....guess what, people paid up in a hurry. We focus too much on micro and not enough macro.
