4. When Democrats choose not to vote, self suppress their vote, bad things happen that don't need to happen.

Here in Wisconsin in 2010 with Obama as president, the Democrats controlled state government, the legislature and governorship. Then came the off-year midterms but too many on the Left were pissed off at Obama about healthcare or were just otherwise complacent and so they decided not to vote. But Republicans turned out to vote like it was their duty.
The result? In one election the state flipped from total Democratic control to total Republican control. Since 2010 was a census year, that meant when the Republicans took power in 2011 they set to work gerrymandering the state to help them get reelected and we've suffered from it for 13 years now with hope just beginning to show on the horizon.

The moral of the story is that when Democrats and those on the Left choose not to vote or vote for a 3rd party candidate who will only be a spoiler, bad things happen. Sadly, in my 50+ years of voting strictly for Democrats, I've seen this happen too many times. With California it could be just a senator compared with what happened here in 2010, but imagine Democrats losing control of the Senate by a single seat. Far, far worse, imagine Trump getting elected because too many on the Left chose not to vote in what is easily the most important election of our lifetimes.

Vote for the Democratic candidates. Just do it.
