4. Reagan and my Dad

That is very similar to the conversation my Dad and I had over Reagan. At the top of Dad’s lungs “Where did you get these ideas?” Me at the top of my lungs “From YOU!” Stopped him dead in his tracks.

My Dad was a Democratic Party precinct chair many years ago. My Mother worked elections for many years. We went to church every Wednesday and Sunday. Both were very proud to be Democrats for Reagan. 1980 changed everything.

We were living in Venezuela in then. Came home to find yellow ribbons everywhere. WTH? My Mom “oh, those are for the hostages in Iran.”

I never understood how they changed so much while we were gone. Living foreign can permanently change how you view our country.
