Not a fan of Putin, regardless of his unfortunate inherited looks. For the same reasons everyone espouses here. He's an autocrat, killer, aggressor. I wouldn't put much past him but I don't see his hand in this.

Anyone, Hamas or not, who kills and tortures innocent people, is scum in my book. Hamas did commit atrocities, no argument from me. It will raise ire here, but I will say when you treat a people brutally for decades, it's not surprising some of them will become brutal themselves.

However I don't agree with using and embellishing* those atrocities to try to create a political climate where a lawless war on civilians in the form of collective punishment becomes acceptable. I think that's just wrong.

* I really don't want to hear it. That Israel has used atrocity propaganda to further its aim of total war on Gaza, by manufacturing consent, should be pretty clear to thinking people by now.
