(23,720 posts)He's not president of Israel so obviously he cannot simply snap his fingers and end the war by decree. But as for calling for a stop to the war, he has been doing that consistently for some time.

April 4: Joe Biden calls for immediate ceasefire in Gaza and says Israel must protect civilians to keep US support
April 10: Biden urges Israel to just call for 6-8 week ceasefire, slams PMs handling of Gaza war
April 12: Biden administration clings to cease-fire talks with no Plan B
May 8: Biden Pressures Israel for Cease-Fire, and Threatens to Withhold Arms
Republicans in the House have rebuked him twice for this:
April 5: House to vote on rebuking Biden's call for Gaza ceasefire
May 16: US House votes to force weapons shipments to Israel, rebuking Biden
