There's an overlap with the GOP on the Libertarians' objections to economic regulation and social welfare, but Libertarians oppose almost all government regulation - very much in opposition to the GOP's and especially Trump's authoritarianism with respect to just about everything. Trump is all for government regulation when he's the government.
