The coup mainline runs through any purple state with a red legislature.

Their ground game: a bunch of brand new fanatical "election observers" sent to "monitor" urban precincts who report up any "irregularities" to a dispatch connected to the legislature. These "irregularities" don't need to be real problems, they just have to take a while to explain away. This has all been previously tested and shown to work well enough.

Then, based on these "reports of widespread irregularities", the state legislature finds a way to disqualify the votes required to shape the outcomes as needed by the RNC. Voila, Republican US senate majority and presidency. Dems completely out of the federal majority with a hostile SCOTUS on the loose rewriting the Constitution to suit their overlords at the Heritage Foundation.

I really hope it doesn't play out like this, but they seem pretty confident.
