I know it’s a different world, and I can’t believe I’m about to say this, and DJT doesn’t have Nixon’s principles but dropping out of the race after a SCOTUS ruling, before losing any more trials and before losing in November allows him to retain his narcissistic fantasy image.

He’ll be able to keep his “I’m a winner” self-image while blaming the world around him for what he doesn’t have. And, IMHO, it won’t diminish his role as cult leader, running almost a shadow government.

In fact, if the House stay red and/or the Senate turns red…he may be the de facto leader of the Legislative branch by virtue of his mind control game with the cult.

He won’t be POTUS but he’s going to be a threat to democracy independent of SCOTUS’ ruling and independent of the election results.
