(14,886 posts)trying to ,make my point that (IMO) Joe needed to show himself more to the American public, explaining his achievements as well as his plans for the next 4 years. At the time I said I didn't think he was taking advantage of the huge microphone he has at his disposal.
The format of this debate was not at all good for him. He was obviously overprepared and seemed to be in a rush, trying to fit all he wanted to say in a couple of minutes due to the debate format. That's not a good format for anybody but especially for him keeping in mind his lifelong fight against stuttering. Add to that the effects of a cold on him and you get a very atypical performance. But effects of that could have been significantly lessened if the viewing public had seen Biden more at his own pace in his own time and on his chosen topic before. Unfortunately, that didn't happen.
But it's not too late. Joe can get back in front of the public virtually any time he wants, to talk about anything he wants and about damned near anything he wants. If he starts doing that he can erase any lingering doubts this "debate" created.
