(22,456 posts)Whether you want to pretend it's not true, the fact is that Left and right are at opposite sides of the linear spectrum.
And yes, it IS linear, because if it were a circular spectrum like some pretend it is, there would also be two other positions to account for.
Picture a compass, it is not just east or west, that would be a linear spectrum, on a circular spectrum, there must also be two other positions that make it circular.
So since we only have two positions at the far ends of the spectrum, far right, which is the most right, and far Left, which is the most left, the spectrum is linear.
You will only begin finding the traits of the right that you have described as you move right toward the center of the linear spectrum.
If you describe people with rightwing traits, you are describing rightwing people.
