In reply to the discussion: Jack Tapper deleted his posts after he was caught lying. [View all]hardluck
(790 posts)23. Sorry, but I'm not seeing the lie
The first post (no. 2/4) references a governor's call that was held on Monday. It was reported by Jack Tapper here:
https://www.cnn.com/2024/07/02/politics/democratic-governors-joe-biden/index.html
The concern from some of the nations Democratic governors were aired on a call Monday organized by Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, one of the sources said. The call was attended by governors only.
On the call, some of the governors expressed surprise that they had not heard from Biden himself about his debate performance. There was a strong sentiment on the call that they needed to hear from Biden directly on the matter.

The governors, one of the sources said, were worried about going public with their concerns out of fear that it would lead to Biden digging in further. Plans for the meeting at the White House are underway but it has not been scheduled.

It was also reported by then NYTimes as well:

The White House is discussing holding a meeting with Democratic governors on Wednesday and having President Biden travel to the battleground states of Wisconsin and Pennsylvania this week, as he and his advisers seek to shore up support and move past his calamitous debate performance, according to two people briefed on the matter.
The meeting on Wednesday would feature governors attending in person at the White House and virtually, according to one of the two people and another person briefed on the planning. It would come two days after the governors, who have been some of Mr. Bidens staunchest supporters throughout his presidency but whose ranks also include his possible replacements, held their own virtual meeting on Monday.
A number of those governors expressed frustration with the current set of circumstances and the lack of contact with Mr. Biden directly on their call on Monday, according to a person briefed on what took place. That meeting ran roughly an hour and did not include staff. Some of the elected officials who have been supportive of Mr. Biden have complained privately that he is being kept in something of a bubble, one that is making the current anxieties about the situation the Democrats are facing worse.

And in the Washington Post:
https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/07/02/biden-to-meet-with-democratic-governors/
On Monday, Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota, who chairs the Democratic Governors Association, held a call with other Democratic governors to discuss Bidens reelection campaign. Several participants expressed frustration that they had not heard personally from the president, according to a person familiar with the call, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss a private meeting.
It was those complaints that spurred the plans for a meeting between Biden and the Democratic governors on Wednesday, with the goal of focusing on the state of his campaign

Based on that Monday governor's call, the White House set up a zoom call with the governors to ally their fears, which was referenced in the above articles and then confirmed in an article in Axios:
https://www.axios.com/local/chicago/2024/07/02/illinois-gov-jb-pritkzer-meeting-president-biden
Driving the news: Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, chairman of the Democratic Governors Association, convened a call with Democratic governors Monday afternoon to discuss concerns about Biden's fitness to be the nominee. The call reportedly didn't include White House or Biden campaign staff.
The call reportedly led Biden to convene this meeting, which some governors are attending in person.
Pritzker was originally planning to join the call virtually, but according to the Sun-Times, is now heading to Washington, D.C. in person.

So all of this matches up. Not seeing the lie.
