(8,923 posts)88. The allegations were made in a civil lawsuit filed in Federal District Court for the Central District of California . .
. . . in case # 5:16-CV-00797 (Katie Johnson v. Donald J. Trump and Jeffrey Epstein).
She sued him for $100 million. The allegations may have constituted crimes, but Trump and Epstein were not criminally charged for them.
California dismissed her lawsuit, due in part to the fact that the couldn't verify her address. She then refiled in the Southern District of New York, but eventually withdrew that lawsuit as well (see https://www.politico.com/f/?id=00000158-318d-d416-abfe-bbdf51aa0001 )
And look, I'm not saying her claims were untrue -- they may well have been. But no one can realistically expect a media outlet to report on unsubstantiated allegations from a civil lawsuit that was withdrawn by the plaintiff before it ever went to trial.
