(1,370 posts)I've been on Threads a lot lately (I quit the toxic X a long time ago) and I have to say that pretty much without exception, people are STILL supporting Joe Biden. And pundits, "so-called journalists," and other well-known spouters of opinions are being called out, chastised, and blocked for their anti-Biden rhetoric. People who I used to respect and follow are being challenged and blocked by many, many Democratic voters who aren't buying into this BS and are sick and tired of this narrative being pushed. People like David Corn, John Heillman, Claire McHaskell, Paul Krugman, Tim Miller, and on and on. Even Keith Olbermann, who was on the right side of this until the last couple of days, is pushing for Biden to leave the race, for pity's sake!
And CNN... My God! The few times I tuned in to see what they were saying, I kept seeing people trying to defend Joe to a commentator that looked blankly at them (Anderson Cooper) or glared at them with a openly contemptuous face (Alisyn Aamerota). I'm done with them.
The good news is that we're finding out who the good guys are, and there are quite a few: Lawrence O'Donnell, Joy Reid, Katy Phang, Steven Beschloss, The Lincoln Project, and many more. People like us are coming out in droves to defend Joe Biden and refute people who want Biden out, even these people have no idea what comes next.
If you have a Threads account, go on there and at least take a look around and it will make you feel better to see how many people feel the same way most of us feel. It's been cathartic to post my feelings and opinions to those who have so quickly turned against Biden. I've noticed that there are more trolls there these days (I read an article where there has been a 200% increase in Russian, Chinese, & Iranian trolls on our social media lately), But at least go and take a look. And speak your mind if you're so inclined.
