(5,760 posts)if in fact you DO leave.
I don't say that with any pride, and I certainly don't want anybody to leave over my opinion, but I don't say it with one ounce of guilt, either.
I am quite accustomed to being outnumbered. I have tried to be respectful in my dissenting minority, just as I have been since the day I realized I was an atheist, over 65 years ago.
I have also explained WHY I want Joe Biden to step aside. It has NOTHING, whatsoever, to do with disrespect. I respect the man immensely, I admire him immensely. But after the debate performance, where his biggest task was to convince the American public that his age won't prevent him from doing a stellar job, I just don't think he can win this election. He failed. Do I think he would give us another great four years? I certainly do. Do I think he will win the election? Sadly, no, although I hope I'm wrong.
I haven't seen a single thread on this site that trashes Joe Biden, despite what others might say. I don't trash him either.
If wanting a different candidate means I'm "throwing him under the bus", well, I guess I'm throwing him under the bus.
I don't agree that we owe Joe Biden any vote out of loyalty. We don't owe Joe Biden a thing. As a politician he OWES US. That's just the nature of the beast, and while it's true that his administration has been one of the most successful in my lifetime, this vote is about what's ahead, not about what's behind us. And if I believe he won't win, as I do, then I'd just be wasting my vote so I want a different choice. The cause is bigger than any one man, no matter how great we all think he is.
I must say, it's pretty interesting to see what has saddened you lately about this site. The most saddening aspect for me lately is how some have tried to bully and curse others, often with foul language, and often to applause.
