If it’s a brief moment, and they are obviously turned off by any other discussion, I let it go. No sense aggravating them.

If it is a part of a larger conversation in which they complain that their vote has no impact, I tell them that’s exactly what some people want them to think. If they complain about the government, I tell them their non vote was a vote for the policies they dislike.
