(8,975 posts)From your lips to the Biden campaign's ears. When he talks about kitchen table issues, I know in my heart he's talking about the same kind of table my parents met at and I did my homework on. I'm not sure TFG has ever seen a kitchen table in his life.
What are we fearing when we say he's old? We're afraid he'll get cancer, dementia, arthritis, or stroke. May I remind us all that you can get any of those afflictions at any age, even dementia. He's living in the White House, where excellent medical attendants are hovering in case they're needed. Also, John Kennedy was forty years younger when he was serving, and in worse health than Joe Biden is now. The dangers Pres. Biden faces are the ones we all face. The age he's at is the age I'm at, but he is about 32 times more accomplished and experienced at government than I am. And lastly, if he does get stricken with something, V.P. Harris is standing right there to pick up the burden and carry it. I don't see that we could have a better team in this year of crazed pundits.
So all of this is why I will enthusiastically vote for Biden & Harris with no qualms about oldness. I have observed that some people, when their bodies age, get younger mentally. They no longer fear doing the wrong thing, or bending the rules, or being uncool. Joe Biden is not cool--he's hot, and he's on a roll. Nothing that the NYT has said has changed my opinion of the Democratic candidate.
So go on talking to yourselves and the rest of the pundit class, Times; the people are not deceived.
