Many members of DSA identify as communists, and they admire not just Putin and Russia (which is no longer communist, but, details...) but also North Korea.
I hadn't realized that antisemitism was so deeply embedded in DSA and other groups. They'll tell you they're just anti-Israel, but their words and actions - like this one - show otherwise.
Their influence is not negligible. They influence college campuses, as the faculty and administrators want to be perceived as "cool" by the kids.
There's a lot of ridiculous behavior on the left and the right in the U.S. now, and one thing they have in common is antisemitism. The other thing they have in common is knee jerk jingoism and a poor understanding of history.
