"The Secret Service sniper who shot the gunman had his rifle trained on the shooter for a while BEFORE the shots were fired (according to a post he made on 4chan?) but was never given the go-ahead to kill him until after the initial shots."

I don't know how true this is, but perhaps it is why Biden is calling for an independent investigation. One conspiracy theory is that high-level Republicans convinced Crooks (a gun fetishist, registered Republican) to take out the orange menace.

I don't necessarily believe any of these conspiracy theories myself, I'm just putting it out there.

On edit: watching the latest news on NBC, the counter-snipers (stationed on the top of buildings) who took out the gunman may have been local police? The Secret Service is stretched thin having to prepare for the Republican Convention in Milwaukee and they often rely on local police to cover areas outside of their designated perimeter.
