(43 posts)I don't think she can win this year or in 2028.
So, regardless of what ends up happening this year (and here's to hoping Joe wins), we need to start talking about 2028 the day after the election.
We cannot have someone who is beholden to wealthy special interests. They will lose.
We need to talk about the platform and make sincere efforts at pushing it every day until the next election.
This platform must focus on banning corporate ownership of single family homes. Today, not in 10 years. This must include LLCs. You need to make over $200,000 to be able to afford a home without a down payment these days. That is unacceptable. That's a tiny minority of Americans who can afford to buy a home these days.
This platform must focus on increasing the buying power of wages. It IS a zero sum game, the buying power of the wealthy will have to decrease.
This platform must focus on protecting public commons for public benefit. From national parks and wildernesses to getting the public's fair share for profit off of mineral exploitation on public lands.
Anything less. We lose. A candidate that can't convincing evince this message. We lose.
It is time for big ideas of rebuilding the American dream for the majority and guaranteeing electoral democracy the only way possible: through economic democracy.
