It was in response to the portion of your statement about evaluating a politician. I understand that it was about President Biden, but my thoughts on the matter could apply to any politician.

Reagan, for example. Second-term Reagan was a pale imitation of the original, and many thought he wasn't fit to serve. Many of us thought he was never fit to serve, but that's another conversation.

With Reagan, signs were everywhere. With President Biden, the discussions mostly revolve around the one debate, though some people also fixate on times that he misspeaks. I find the latter a little specious, because a) most people misspeak, many quite often, and b) misstatements have always kind of been his thing, and it generally made him look more like a real person.
