Who would be Kamala Harris' best VP choice? [View all]
I know there's a lot of hard feelings on this board about Joe being pushed to drop out. I'm hoping that Kamala may bring some energy to the race and effectively attack Trump. She can be more charismatic than she's given credit for. It's probably just a matter of days until Dump uses the phrase "nasty woman" again.
VP choices usually don't decide elections. The classic case for that is that everyone thought Lloyd Bentsen was a lot better than Dan Quayle. But sometimes, like with JFK/LBJ, it can be important. I'm curious who people on DU are thinking would be some of the strongest VP choices.
I'm leaning toward Josh Shapiro because he's very popular in PA and could help lock down one of the 3 states that are crucial to winning. Since Kamala is a woman of color, a VP who is an older establishment white guy, like Biden was for Obama could be helpful. IMO Sherrod Brown would fit the bill, but there's no way we'd choose to sacrifice his Senate seat.
Josh Shapiro as the choice would give us 2 young candidates, but that worked when it was Clinton/Gore. What do you think are some other good options?
