4. Good question

Technically it doesn’t count because what just happened wasn’t part of the primary. The primary ended back in March when Biden secured enough delegates, then he dropped out and the majority of the delegates switched to Harris.

The “Don’t keep fighting the last primary” rule is intended for use following a contested primary when members still want to go at each other after the nomination has been settled. The last time we had a contested primary was 2020, and it wasn’t very contentious. So right now, that rule just doesn’t really apply to anything.

With regard to relitigating the way this whole thing went down, I hope that DUers are able to put it behind them even if just temporarily while we work to defeat Trump. I was not a fan of the process, but I don’t want to keep going on about it right now. I’m ready to take on Trump with Kamala Harris leading the way.

Let’s work to get a Democratic president and Congress, then we can actually talk about real campaign finance reform.

Wait what about Michelle Obama??? /s DFab420 Jul 2024 #1
All good. Can we clarify what that will also mean in terms of "don't relitigate the last primary'? meadowlander Jul 2024 #2
