Kamala grew up unable to play with some of the neighbors kids because she was black. She was one of the first in CA to experience busing for integration in school. She attended many civil rights marches with her mother as a child.

At law school, she served as president of its chapter of the Black Law Students Association. She's a lifetime member of the NAACP

She was the first Black woman in California to be elected district attorney. She became friends with Obama in 2004. She was the first notable backer of Obama from CA in 2007 and campaigned for him in Iowa.

As DA & AG she fought to address racial disparities in the criminal justice system - in terms of application of the law, policing reform, fairness, incarceration, help when they got out of prison, etc, etc. She's carried those efforts on through her time in Washington.

She was known as the 2nd black woman in US history to be elected Senator. She's a member of Congressional Black Caucus. She's a member of The Links, an invitation-only social and service organization of prominent Black American women.

As Senator, she introduced a bill to make lynching a federal crime.
She supported voting rights and other civil rights causes in the Senate and White House.

The whole Trump narrative of today is a racist scam trying to demean her.
