17. Intentional or not, it is wrong

Who has not heard Harris herself, or her aides and associates say her name multiple times?

I didn't say that every mispronunciations of her name is intended to be malicious. For one thing, it is difficult to divine what another person's intentions are. That is a dodge often used by racists - "prove that I am a racist!" In other words they are asking us to divine what their intentions were when they made a racist comment. That is an impossible task, of course.

I am saying that the introduction and the reinforcement of the confusion, by continual intentional mispronunciation of her name by right wingers is malicious. Repeating that, or promoting the idea that there is a legitimate basis for confusion may not be malicious. It could just be laziness and/or ignorance.
