All that has to happen is an interview. Walz could smile, chuckle, and say something like "if making sure that kids in school have enough to eat, then sign me up."

They're just not going to be able to make him look like a wild-eyed fanatic. He just comes across as too calm, too genuine, too reassuring. We may have a smear-proof VP candidate on our ticket.
