Here's the way I look at it, and just to be clear before I start, I'm fully supportive of a cease fire, arms embargo and a two state solution. More violence only makes things worse. Regardless of politics, these are human beings who are suffering and resolving that should be a priority.
The only hope for any settlement of the Gaza War is with the United States. This country is a democracy, and the will of the people still prevails. No President has the ability to unilaterally embargo the shipment of arms to Israel, under the treaties that have been negotiated between the two countries, and any embargo would require the approval of the Senate.
Be realistic. It's not exaggerating to say that, not only would the position of Gaza grow immeasurably worse under a Trump Presidency, he would likely give the green light to Netanyahu to wipe Gaza out permanently.
Perhaps a little education in politics is warranted here. These people want something done. Both the President and Vice President have listened, and offered and asked for the patience required to walk through this situation. After meeting with the Vice President and Governor Walz, the response should have been to provide support for the courtesy that was granted. If I were running for President, I'd be a whole lot more inclined and motivated to try and find a reasonable and workable solution to a problem I'd been asked to resolve if those who were asking were polite and courteous, instead of loud and rude. I think the conclusion that has been reached, that these people are narrowly focused on their own interest and haven't really supported Democratic candidates anyway, needs to be brought to their attention. They have no where else to go. So they need to be patient, gain some understanding of how politics works, and participate in the process, and provide the kind of support they are capable of doing without strings attached, knowing that this is the party that is actually listening and is desiring to make things so much better.
