48. I lived through that whole time also.

Although I'm a guy, I watched how women fought for, and gained their rights, and how much they were able to do to actually make this country great.
I remember when women couldn't open a bank account, take out a loan, sign a contract, or get a credit card without a man co-signing.
I remember when career women were expected to be teachers, nurses, or insurance agents.
I remember how women broke through glass ceilings one after another. Teachers became principles, nurses became doctors, insurance agents became executives.
As far as women's rights are concerned, the world has gone through many amazing transformations in my life.
And I thank all of you who fought so hard to force those doors open to women.
Remember, there were men who helped you do this, or at least got out of your way. I'm one of them.

Now you have a chance to show the entire country what it takes to be an American Woman.
I'm still with you.
