The Ministry of Justice and Peace has among its main functions to promote and coordinate plans and programs aimed at promoting peace at the national level from the perspective of violence prevention, supporting the Ministry of Public Security in matters of control of firearms in the country, promote alternative conflict resolution as a way to develop a culture of peace, promote the best articulation in order to comply with the mandate of the General Law of public entertainment, audiovisual and printed materials and promote participation of civil society through non-governmental organizations and any other type of body dedicated to promoting peace and non-violence.
