In reply to the discussion: Sorry but the Cassidy performance during the roll call is annoying [View all]Mark.b2
(799 posts)24. I'm with you on the roll call...
just cast the votes and be on with it. I understand its supposed to be memorable, joyous, etc. Im not feeling the genuity. Many speeches are silly. I would much rather hear speeches.
Granted, I come to this with an aniti-convention bias. The conventions are boring. As someone with a high taste for all things political, there are two events I dont care forthe State of the Union address and the nominating conventions.
I didnt hear anyone at the office discussing the RNC a couple weeks ago. I picked up COVID and have been traveling so far this week, so Ive not been able to hear if folks this week to see if there is more engagement with the DNC. Hopefully so, since it has been a much more interesting last three weeks for Democrats!

It's probably a lot of fun to be there; it's just kind of irritating to have to listen

I've always enjoyed the roll calls. I'm just not crazy about the music this time around.

I agree. Too loud, no concept of segues, and how does Celebrate relate to Iowa?

Kill-joying/off-my-lawning has been a DU specialty since I joined here in mid 2018. Hardly surprising to see it again.

Completely disagree! They are appealing to the younger voters and it's awesome!

I'm old, and I like the music, maybe a bit loud but Springsteen for NJ, how can you go wrong.

Think it's OK. Could have done without Sweet Home Alabama. Liked Wendell Pierce.
