Ohio Republican Senator JD Vance dismissed Taylor Swift's endorsement of Kamala Harris on Wednesday, saying most Americans would not be "influenced by a billionaire celebrity," but the comment appeared to backfire.

Fox News host Martha MacCallum asked Vance about the endorsement of the Democratic vice president, which came moments after Tuesday night's presidential debate, saying many women voters would care what Swift thinks.

"I don't think most Americans, whether they like her music, are fans of her or not, are going to be influenced by a billionaire celebrity who I think is fundamentally disconnected from their interests and the problems of most Americans," Vance responded.
