Losing the popular vote by 3 million in 2016 allowed him to squeak into office. His handlers got the message and losing by nearly 8 million votes in 2020 only barely lost him re-election. They almost pulled it off again because they correctly gauged the level of discontent with their performance during their term, and took (only barely inadequate) crooked countermeasures.

Their own internal polling—the numbers they show their inner circle, not the ones they quote on Fox—will tell them the level of dirty and crooked measures they need to undertake to pull off a typical “surprise Republican upset.” You know, the kind they used in 2000 and 2016. They might not have enough supporters and hired goons to pull it off, but I consider it folly to assume that they won’t try, attempting to seize the government if they think they can get away with it. And plenty of them DO think that. Has anyone seen the federal arrest warrants for MTG, Gym Jordan, Josh Hawley? Does anyone think they ever will?
