(15,110 posts)I've seen Asheville during a regular downpour and it was pretty amazing how fast the roads filled up. I can't even imagine how it is now.
We're just over the mountain from Asheville, in TN. It's pretty bad here too. Roads are flooded. We live on a hill, so unlikely that we'll see flooding in our home.
Our neighbor 2 houses up from us has no power. They get it from the other direction. Usually, they have power when we don't. We've filled the tubs with water in case we lose power, since we have a well that relies on an electric pump.
Horse tucked herself into the barn, which she rarely does during normal rain and storms. Actually, I have never seen her hang out in the barn during any storm at all. She doesn't like the sound of rain on the metal roof. But today is different and she knows it.
News just said a tree fell on someone's porch, trapping them inside. But no one was hurt. This is really some scary stuff. Sure, not as bad as it was in FL, but the houses here are not prepared for hurricanes.
Keep us updated on how your nephew is doing.
