(3,091 posts)I've thought about leaving too, but if we all do that we're leaving these shits in control of the most powerful country in the world.
We are fortunate to have a direct vote in US politics. If they take that, then we have to raise hell.
When I say "however we can" I want to avoid violence if possible. I want to believe that we can solve our political problems without that. I also think our leaders are strong enough to find ways to thwart Trump.
But I do think people who care about Democracy should be prepared for violence if they are capable. If you can handle a gun, buy one and learn how to use it. If you are young and healthy, learn how to fight. I personally practice marksmanship and train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
I'll only literally fight if I'm forced to, but I don't have any faith that the Republicans are anything less than the American Nazi Party at this point. They've shown zero principle, and zero resistance to Trump's fascism. They'll do his bidding no matter what.
I won't stand for being abused, or for the abuse of people I care about.
