13. At the Alamo's commemoration of the Final Siege, I got into it with a re-enactor about the Civil War.

In March of 2018 on the actual date of that final battle, this guy said that the Civil War was the "War of Northern aggression." In front of people at his booth, I replied.."Oh! You mean the Confederate states who broke away from the Union to fight for, and preserve the RIGHT of white people OWNING Black people, and treating them less than human? THAT war?"

Needless to say, this re-enactor was very irate with me and asked me on what authority did I have the right to question his spiel! "I READ books! History books! I have traveled to Historical places in this country centered on the American Civil War! I MINORED in American History in College! Are you saying Ken Burns was WRONG when he made his well-known series that featured well known Civil War Historian, Shelby Foote?"

The Senate race in Texas has a well educated, former NFL Linebacker and Lawyer in Colin Allred against a Harvard Law grad that has surely lost his way with reality, sucking up to a man who perhaps despises him. A NFL Linebacker faces challenges and focuses on his job. Ted Cruz RUNS AWAY from a challenge. Thus fleeing to Cancun when Texas froze!

The metaphor here is Education and the FACTS wins the day. Voters are getting more educated as to where candidates stand when it comes to the issues and facts. Texas is not as RED as Cruz and others wish to see it.
