(57,442 posts)Going back to the 1st quarter and 2nd quarter of 2024, Teslas year-over-year sales drops were 8.5% and 4.8%, respectively. As your CleanTechnica article goes on to point out, Tesla "will still need a strong 4th quarter in order to log sales growth in 2024." So no, the OP headline is not "false," former9thward. Tesla's sales in 2024 are down. The overall Tesla sales picture that your own CleanTechnica article describes shows Tesla sales look like they are trending down, not up.

And you can't blame it on a marketwide EV sales slowdown. The so called EV sales slowdown is mostly a Tesla sales slowdown, according to sales data. Tesla may be in trouble, but other EVs are selling just fine.
