Anybody having trouble with close family members now who are donOLD supporters? [View all]
Yesterday my sister in law called who lives in a red state and married to a MAGA. She said she and her husband barely talk nowadays. He goes to his area of the house to watch fox and other right wing media and she retreats to another area. I felt so sorry for her. He’s not a bad guy but he was sucked into the right wing vortex gradually over the years. Their 3 adult kids live nearby and they don’t come by much now because a fight erupts between their parents over politics while they are there.
My husband went for a visit to watch the Super Bowl at their home and had to leave at half time because they got into a huge fight over politics and he missed the second half and overtime. I was there this summer and they visited my mother in law where we were staying. We don’t talk politics around him when we’re there but my sister in law referred to the orange turd as the convicted felon and he stood up and said we have to leave immediately ! I keep my distance and only do small talk with him. It’s so sad. I fear for this marriage surviving when VP Harris wins.
I’m so glad my husband and I are in the same thought politically I couldn’t image being married to a MAGA.
