10. We make many assumptions about why people vote the way they do.

The assumptions are fundamentally all wrong, especially the ones based in stereotypes. We tend to project our own beliefs on others and often insist that we know what should be important to them. We don't.

People vote in myriad ways, and everyone has a different combination of information (or lack thereof), issues, factors and priorities that go into their decision-making. No group is a monolithic bloc, whether it's Trump supporters or Latinos or liberals or however we try to make people fit into little boxes.

The problem is that many of us don't even bother trying to learn anything from how others make these decisions, because we think we already know. I give you credit for making the attempt and hope that it proves to be informative.
