I'm for hand counting as they have in Germany with reliable exit polls that give accurate results on election night while they wait the 2 weeks to hand count the ballots. Of course there aren't segments for German population refusing to answer exit polls based on propaganda. Hiring counters is not more expensive than our voting machines.

Yes hand counting can be compromised but not on the scale as machines, so less likely to sway an election in one direction and more likely to be discovered.

We know about Republican attemps to access and share codes for machines (Georgia and Colorado), why do we assume there aren't attempts that we don't know about? I know polls aren't perfect, wish I could see the exit polls which are much more accurate, but the several point shift point to Trump in every election is suspicious to me and I really don't buy the shy Trump voter theory
