5. Another contributing factor may have been the celebrities who campaigned with her.

We saw in 2016 that celebrity appearances did not help Clinton win. I don’t know that they hurt Harris, but did they help? The problem I see with celebrities is a double-edged sword. They draw attention to the campaign, but they also help portray the Democrats as elitists, which is a common accusation by Republicans and their voters.

One of the takeaways so far is that too many working class voters have turned against Democrats. If this is true, then celebrities on the campaign trail may add to this perception.
